DESCRIPTION:Let’s work toward a Newfoundland and Labrador where every worker is safe\, respected\, and protected. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLabour exploitation and human trafficking are happening right here in Canada—and they’re often hidden in plain sight. \nThis free\, 90-minute webinar will explore the realities of labour exploitation in Canada\, the systemic issues that make some workers more vulnerable\, and the steps we can take—individually and collectively—to support ethical\, fair\, and safe workplaces. \nYou’ll gain insight into the barriers im/migrants face\, the signs of exploitation\, and what you can do to support ethical employment practices and advocacy efforts that promote fair and just working conditions. \nJoin Amal Unite & Empower and FCJ Refugee Centre Toronto for this informative session.\nWhether you’re part of a large organization\, a small team\, or simply want to better understand what’s happening in our communities—being aware is an important first step. \nAbout the Facilitator:\nJovana Blagovcanin (Anti-Human Trafficking Manager\, FCJ Refugee Centre) \nJovana Blagovcanin serves as the Anti-Human Trafficking Manager at the FCJ Refugee Centre in Toronto and as the Coordinator of the Toronto Counter Human Trafficking Network. Through the Anti-Human Trafficking and Migrant Mobile Worker Program\, she supports migrants with precarious status who have faced workplace abuse or exploitation\, including labour and sex trafficking.
