Who can join the program?

We support newcomers to Canada already living in NL or who have been authorized to come to Canada and hold some type of valid work permit.

Is there a cost to participate in the program?

No, our services are completely free.

What services does the program offer?

We offer a range of personalized services including, resume writing, interview preparation, job matching, immigration guidance, connection to community resources, networking events, and workshops focused on personal development and well-being.

How long will it take you to find me a job? 

Our program doesn’t guarantee a job placement. Instead, we focus on helping you become employment-ready and competitive in the local job market. The timeline for finding a job depends on your skills, experience, and the current job market. We’re here to support you, but finding the right job will ultimately be up to you.

Do you provide childcare during your events and workshops?

We offer onsite childcare services for some events and workshops. If you require this service, please reach out to inform us at least one week in advance.

Can I participate if I don’t speak English fluently? 

Absolutely! Our team can support you in five different languages, and we offer assistance to ensure you can fully participate and benefit from our services, regardless of your English proficiency. We’re here to help you succeed.

What began as TaskforceNL during the COVID-19 pandemic has grown into a vital support network, thanks to the generous support of the Northpine Foundation and the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador’s Department of Immigration, Population Growth & Skills. With this support, we have expanded our reach, empowering employers with the guidance and resources to attract, hire, and retain skilled talent—creating opportunities for everyone to thrive.

This Canada- wide initiative, active in over 32 communities, connects skilled newcomers with local professionals to help them integrate into the local job market.
