Courtney Abbott
Courtney is the Mentorship Project Lead with Avalon Employment, where she plays a pivotal role in fostering inclusive mentorship opportunities that bridge the gap between job seekers and employers. In this capacity, Courtney works closely with businesses to share how to create diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplaces that benefit all workers. Her work is driven by a commitment to cultivating meaningful relationships, ensuring that all individuals, regardless of background or ability, have access to valuable employment opportunities.
Sara Burrows
Sara is a Career Talent Consultant at the Canadian Council on Rehabilitation and Work (CCRW) in St. John’s. She has been developing and implementing innovative programs tailored for diverse disabilities, fostering strong community relationships and assisting employers in becoming disability confident. Sara is passionate about community engagement and non-profit administration, serving as the Vice Chair of the Pottle Centre, she actively supports the organization’s mission to provide a safe and inclusive space for individuals living with mental illness.
Ramy Abdulzaher
Ramy is the co-founder of Bonocle, an award-winning startup that develops braille education and entertainment products to support blind children and adults in learning how to read and write using braille. Ramy has worked closely alongside individuals with disabilities, which has given him a deep, practical understanding of accessibility in both innovation and workplace settings. He recently co-authored and published a literature review on the accessibility of entrepreneurship training programs for individuals with disabilities and continues his mission to support blind and disabled communities and build a more inclusive society in Newfoundland and Labrador and beyond.
